Abstract
Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder in elderly patients, who often have decreased organ function, various comorbidities, and polypharmacy. When choosing anti-epileptic drugs for this population, drugs with a low propensity for side effects and a minimal potential for drug-drug interactions should be preferred. Therefore, the use of newer anti-epileptic drugs, such as levetiracetam, zonisamide, gabapentin, and pregabalin is suggested.
